ABSTRACT
Following the August Revolution of 1945, the nascent revolutionary government in Phu Yen faced myriad challenges, confronting famine, illiteracy, and the imminent threat of re-invasion by the French colonialists. Against this backdrop, the youth forces of Phu Yen demonstrated their pioneering and vanguard role by actively participating in building and protecting the revolutionary administration, developing armed forces, promoting production, eradicating illiteracy, and mobilizing the population to join the resistance war. From organizing militia, guerrilla, and logistics transport forces to engaging in scorched-earth resistance, building a new lifestyle, and developing education, the youth of Phu Yen became the core force in the local resistance and national construction. This article clarifies the prominent roles and contributions of the Phu Yen youth movement from 1946 to 1950, thereby reaffirming the position of the youth in the cause of national liberation and defense.
