ABSTRACT
Currently, ambulances are the most widely used means of transport for providing first aid in medical emergencies. They travel from the point of emergency to hospitals, transporting patients safely so that medical treatment can be carried out at the appropriate time. One of the problems occurring inside ambulances is the limited space during patient care. This can mainly interfere with the organization of materials and equipment, compromising the necessary agility of paramedics at the moment of the emergency. Thus, the objective of this work was to scientifically analyze the equipment storage compartment inside an ambulance in the SAMU (Mobile Emergency Care Service), to generate data for future projects in the sector. The methodology used to achieve the project's objective involved conducting research at the SAMU unit in the city of Bauru, using interviews with paramedics as basic tools. From this collected information, statistical interpretations were made of the acquired data, providing researchers with answers for a possible improvement in the working conditions of healthcare professionals and patient care. Therefore, this study reinforces that seemingly localized design interventions can produce significant systemic impacts in mobile emergency care services. Continued development of the proposed prototype is recommended, followed by field validation and potential incorporation of the improvements into future ambulance projects in the country.
