ABSTRACT

This study examined the intersection between technology adoption and employee engagement among teaching staff at a private university. Utilizing the Diffusion of Innovations Theory, it uncovered the various factors that influence attitudes and behaviors toward technological integration. A cross-sectional survey was conducted, employing quantitative methods and secondary data analysis. The findings revealed that 65.11% of respondents were males, 34.88% were aged 56 years or above, 46.51% held Ph.D. degrees, and 81.39% were identified as Yoruba. Furthermore, 53.48% of participants indicated that the technologies adopted were aligned with their learning objectives, while 65.11% believed these technologies enhanced students' learning experiences. Additionally, 46.51% reported an increase in job satisfaction attributed to technology adoption. The study concludes that higher education institutions should prioritize the implementation of contemporary technologies, offer relevant training for staff development, and ensure a reliable Wi-Fi environment to facilitate teaching activities, thereby enabling staff to maintain global competitiveness.
