ABSTRACT

Adolescence, like childhood, adulthood, and old age, is a crucial developmental stage and deserves to be examined from various perspectives. This study examines the effects of pessimistic thoughts on adolescent psychological development and identifies the various dimensions of pessimism during adolescence from a psychological perspective. First, adolescence is briefly described. Then, pessimism is examined from various perspectives, including physical and sexual development, emotional development, moral development, social development, personality development, and mental health. Additionally, the special importance of personality and mental health development in this period, within the context of identity formation, is emphasized, and developmental tasks related to mental health are briefly discussed. The study concludes with some recommendations for parents and educators regarding this period.
